Dunellen Bagel

Just moved to Dunellen and needed to find a bagel place and this is it! They are very friendly and the ladies that answer the phones/take orders are very nice. You can just tell it's a good local place. I've had a few orders where I've asked some special requests/modifications to things and they get it right every time.

Great local spot. I def recommend. The bagels are good and fresh. They also have sandwiches. The line is long, so don't expect to get in and out, but the girls are nice n it's mostly town people in line, so everyone is chatting.

When I think of quintessential New Jersey bagel spot -- this is it. "Hole in the wall" (check), has been around for years (check), where the locals go (check) and has REALLY. GOOD. homemade, fresh bagels (check). What more could you want? I often call ahead to place my order -- especially on a weekend morning, at peak busy. My go to: bacon, egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel -- SPK (salt, pepper, ketchup). The space inside is super tiny inside, but everyone working there works hard to get people in and out quickly -- plus the teeny-tiny inside adds to the cozy, nostalgic, small business feel. Several tables with chairs and umbrellas to sit and enjoy when the weather is nice. DB also has lots of other delicious deli/lunch items (haven't tried many yet bc I'm always craving my regular order) and some sweeter breakfast treats. Fridge full of different flavored homemade cream cheese & other breakfast essentials -- orange juice jugs, grab and go drinks & counter coffee. Bonus points for no longer being a cash only business!! I'm so happy to support this local stronghold. It's a wonderful bagel shop, prob one of the best in the state. They have a unique oven and cooking process. Do you have a straight shot of you from the door to the back, or you can see all the magic happens. They just got a brand new oven and they're pumping out some great bagels.
